What is Bactroban?
Bactroban is a type of drug in the group of antibacterial medications and it is targeted at the treatment of skin infections, one of which is impetigo. Mupirocin, the active substance incorporated in the drug, effectively prevents the bacterial infection from growing on the skin.

The use of Bactroban is effective in treatment of the following:
- Impetigo. It is a skin condition, which is highly contagious and accompanied by the appearance of red sores. This problem is especially widespread among children.
What is the dosage of generic Bactroban?
The medication comes in the form of nasal ointment and cream, which makes it suitable to use for different purposes. The amount of nasal ointment and frequency of its application should be approved by the medical specialist. Generally, adult patients are prescribed 0.5 grams of the nasal ointment and the amount should be evenly divided between two nostrils. The application of Bactroban is to be repeated twice daily for 5 days. When it comes to Bactroban cream, it should be thinly applied onto the infected area 3 times daily for 10 days. The length of the treatment may have to be adjusted according to your reaction to the drug.
What are the contraindications for using generic Bactroban?
