However, it is not effective in treating viral infections such as the flu or the common cold.
What are the indications for using Avelox?
Avelox is an oral drug that is prescribed as a treatment for bacterial infections. It can be given to patients with infections of the skin, stomach, lungs or sinus. What is the dosage for Avelox?
Avelox is an oral drug that is available in the form of 400mg tablets or as an intravenous injection. The exact dosage of this antibiotic and duration of treatment should be decided by the treating physician as it has to correlate with the patient’s condition, its severity, and medical history. Avelox is usually taken once a day at evenly spaced intervals. The constant amount of medicine in the body will lead to better results. It can be administered with or without food but with a glass of water.
What are the contraindications for using Avelox?
Avelox should never be used by people who are allergic to it or to similar antibiotics. It is also proscribed for use by individuals with a medical history of myasthenia gravis. Also, tell your medical practitioner if you have arthritis, or other joint problems, muscle or nerve disorder, or a low level of potassium in the blood, as Avelox may cause more harm than good.
